Today’s kind of been uneventful. Nothing really good or bad has happened. It’s just sort of been blah. Our new water heater was installed today while we were at work, but that’s about as exciting as it gets. Our old one was over ten years old and was starting to leak. We figured, with the baby almost here, it would be a good idea to replace it before the bottom decided to fall out. I had no idea water heater installation, permit to install and bringing the adjoining pipes up to code would be so expensive. I was thinking a couple hundred dollars would cover it. Boy, was I wrong.
Speaking of installation, last weekend we installed the infant seat, got an extra base for Ryan’s Jeep and put up the valances in the nursery. We didn’t really do much in the way of putting the finishing touches on the basement, though, since Ryan is a little burned out in that department. Laundry is done, my bag is packed and the Pack n Play is ready to rumble. I felt like I’ve accomplished a lot, but still feel like there is so much to do. I must be in the nesting phase. I want the house spotless. However, I don’t really have the energy to go crawling around on my hands and knees with a toothbrush scrubbing every nook and cranny. In another lifetime, maybe, but not this one.
Did I mention I found my glasses? Well, Ryan found them. I guess looking for them without my contacts in wasn’t a really effective way to search. Hey, I swear I felt around in that laundry basket and they weren’t there! I’m so blind without my glasses. Ryan calls me Velma, the chick with the glasses but no eyes from Scooby Doo. I can’t really argue since my eyesight really is pretty bad. I got glasses in the second grade for cripesake! I had crooked teeth, too, so I had to get those fixed. I think Ryan had braces as well. Man, this kid doesn’t stand a chance.
Anyway, my point is that I’m now halfway through the last Harry Potter. I accidentally stumbled upon a spoiler on msnb.com reading an article about J.K. Rowling, so I know for sure something I’ve suspected all along… but I won’t ruin it for anyone else who’s reading the book.
*Yawn* All right. Now I’m even boring myself. Toodles.
